BIO of the artist

Nabila is a ceramic artist based in Jakarta, Indonesia who specializes in nerikomi technique. She earned her Bachelor's from Pelita Harapan University studying Product Design, and it was here where she took an interest in Nerikomi which then became the focal point of her final project and eventual focus of her craft. After graduation she continued exploring Nerikomi further, eventually setting up her studio ‘Nareswari’; a playground where she experiments and a place to showcase her creations.

About the workshop

Nerikomi is a traditional Japanese hand-building pottery technique involving stacking, layering, and compressing different colored clays to create intricate, repeating patterns that run entirely through the clay body, rather than just on the surface.

During these 3 days you will have a mix of demonstration and practice of Nabila's way of understanding Nerikomi. You will have the chance to start from coloring the clay, to create unique pieces following different patterns.

Join us for an all-inclusive workshop at Bloo Eco Village in Padangbai, an eco resort with breathtaking ocean views. Experience three days and two nights filled creativity, sharing, and a chance to disconnect from the hustle of everyday life.
