BIO of the artist

Following her studies in interior architecture in Brussels, she transitioned into ceramics, pursuing her passion without formal training. Motivated by a profound desire to work with materials, she embarked on a journey that explores micro-architecture, revealing a realm rich in intimacy, emotion, and sensitivity. Each piece she crafts serves as an invitation for others to with the fundamental essence of ceramics.

Artist's statement

This journey, through the quest for shapes and materials, reflects my elusive need to connect with the sensory world, where, from time to time, to my greatest joy, the beauty of things emerges.

Workshop details

This workshop offers an introductory, empirical, and progressive approach to glaze research. Participants will work with basic glazes, including ash glazes, fired at 1280°C in an electric kiln. The methods explored are applicable to all high-temperature firings (electric, gas, wood).

The focus is on developing simple and rigorous research methods by working with variables and constants, and on opening up to the material qualities of glaze beyond conventional ideas of success or failure.

The workshop is conceived as a collective laboratory, leading to the creation of a shared library of glaze tests. All tests are carried out on small supports prepared and bisque-fired in advance.

This is a research-oriented workshop: personal pieces will not be glazed. The aim is to build a foundation of material knowledge and sensitivity that can later inform the glazing of finished works.

Emphasis is placed on the expressive and sensitive dimension of glaze, which may be used as a material in itself or as part of a broader personal language.
