Artist's statement
" I like the warmth in clay, its noble appearance and both its weaknesses and strengths. The glaze mixes naturally in the kiln and the expression of texture created by layering colors, evoke for me the colors found in nature and the atmosphere of ancient objects.
I first use a variety of techniques to shape my pottery, using mold, hand forming and wheel spinning. I then create different colored liquid clay with pigment that I apply on my work with a natural sponge, creating different layers of textures. I then fire the work in my electric or gas kiln.
I also make large pots over 80cm in diameter. "
